Mycelium proposes using fungi-based hybrid composites to break down carbon-rich asteroid material into soil while eliminating toxins. It aims to create self-regulating ecosystems for biotech and humans, replacing unsustainable resources with renewable biomass. Mycelium serves as a platform for studying fungi and distribution changes. The center's experimental biosphere adapts to Mars data, maintaining a healthy environment. Fungi-based materials support large-scale Martian habitats, enabling space mining, manufacturing, and research. The blueprint marks significant space commercialization progress, offering solutions for Earth too. Fungi hold promise for sustainable systems on distant worlds and our own.
AI INTERPOLATION
The project’s inception originated from AI-GAN training, utilizing artificial intelligence to align the lab and forest with our envisioned future. Architectural elements were integrated with space and function, resulting in abstract hybrid images. Moreover, the fusion of fungi, flowers, and mechanics explores and represents the voiceless individuals impacted by human decision-making regarding the planet.
